GIRD UP FOR 2020, RUNE KNIGHTS!

Thank you all for jumping into the land of Rokar and wrecking some wild aether-infused baddies with us. Your feedback, bug reports and suggestions have all been crucial to making this game better, and we love having such a passionate, close and kind community.

With the new year fully underway, we wanted to let you know what’s going on for 2020 in Rokar.

WILL THERE BE MORE CONTENT UPDATES FOR THE GAME?

In short, yes. During the first part of 2020 the team will be working on some balance updates, tutorial tweaks, quality of life improvements, and updating the in-game music with our new mastered tracks.

Timeline and specifics for these updates are still in flux, but we’re shooting to get the first of them out by the end of March.

WAIT. WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF 2020?

While the response to Until You Fall has been amazing, the best way to ensure that we can still keep adding content to the game is by ensuring more Rune Knights can take the fight to Rokar.

Fittingly, one of the most frequent requests we’ve received is to bring the game to more headsets. So, we are currently investigating the time and resources needed to bring the game to additional platforms (specifics will be announced soon, we’re still pretty early on in our investigations).

Additionally, we’re going to be focusing on the features and work needed to get Until You Fall to a 1.0 version on all platforms. You know, performance optimizations, achievements, balance updates, bug fixes - stuff like that.

THAT’S IT THEN? NO MORE CONTENT?

Like I Expect You To Die, we want to try and continue supporting the game beyond launch with new content.

As such, getting us on as many platforms as possible and ensuring we have a solid 1.0 offering will give us a better chance at making additional content going into the future.

DOES THAT MEAN THAT THE DEV TEAM IS GOING DARK?

No! The team will continue to be active in our Discord, eagerly reading through (and trying to respond to) your feedback.

Further, as work progresses with optimizations and achievements, we’ll definitely be pushing new builds out to you folks to get your feedback (and help us catch some nasty bugs).

While we won’t be able to react to requests for new content in 2020, your balance feedback, suggestions, and bug reports will continue to be crucial to help us build a better game.

WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING IN ROKAR?

Here’s what we have planned right now:

Challenges: Challenges have moved from weekly to monthly, meaning that the challenges will get harder and have different variations. For example, potential challenges could include, “funniest gameplay GIF”, or “Best fanart”, along with the gameplay challenges that have been so popular.

Soundtrack Release: Plans are underway to release the soundtrack in 2020. More details soon!

Merch: Plans to make Merch available for purchase are also in the works. Rokari fashion FTW.

Dev Diary: To keep the community aware of what is going on, we’re looking at opening a Discord channel solely for the dev team to tell the community what’s been going on. Right now we’re discussing what the format is, what the cadence would be, and the like. We’ll let you know when we start posting them.

Events: We’re still going to be taking the fight for Rokar and bringing it around the country. Stay tuned for updates for where the team will be showing the game. Show up and show off your fighting skills, Champions!

    ROKAR NEEDS YOU!

So, in short, we’re going to be shifting focus to start bringing the game to a polished 1.0 package, while also bringing it to additional platforms.

As we said at the top, building a bigger audience will help ensure future development for the game.

Help others hear the call of battle and enlist more Rune Knights into our excellent community. Tell your friends, write reviews, give us your feedback, continue pushing out great content on the game and share as often as you can.

    That’s all for now, Champions.

    Keep on Slayin’,
